We Need You!

Hampshire SENDIASS

SENDIASS is a free and confidential service offering information, advice and support on issues relating to a child or young person’s special educational needs or disability. Our service works with parents, children and young people up to the age of 25. We work across Hampshire from an office base in Winchester.

Volunteering with SENDIASS

As a volunteer you could help support a young person in a meeting with educational staff. Or you might visit a parent at home to help them write their views about their child’s special educational needs. If you are willing to learn and have an interest in special educational needs or disability this might be the role for you.

One of the existing volunteers has been volunteering for about 15 years. When asked what he enjoys most about the role he replied, “Variety. Every call to help is different. Plus knowing that you are making a difference.”

The volunteers make an important contribution to the service and Elaine Fish, Support Worker, would welcome enquiries: “All these opportunities provide full training and our volunteers value the flexibility in terms of commitment.”
