28th February 2023 saw over 100 people walk through the doors of Winchester Bapstist Church Hall, all with one thing in common: VOLUNTEERING!
Jen and I, Coordinators of Community First’s Volunteering Service, hosted our first of four Volunteering Fayres across West and East Hampshire, which welcomed over 20 exhibitors all showcasing their volunteering opportunities to dozens of community members in attendance. The atmosphere was truly ‘buzzing’ and there were smiles and energy all round! One volunteer said: “What an excellent fayre, really enthusiastic stall holders and a lovely buzz about the place. Thank you! A great range of volunteering opportunities”.
We were so thankful to all of the exhibitors for supporting our first event hosted this side of the Covid Pandemic. One of our exhibitors said our Fayre was the “busiest Volunteer fayre we’ve been to. Lots of potential volunteers”. Thanks also goes to our amazing Community First ‘Dream Team’ of Helpers that took care of so much to ensure the day ran smoothly and successfully!
Kim & Ellie from Age Concern Hampshire said: “Great footfall and amazing Community First staff”
Barnardo’s fed back saying: “It was well attended with lots of different charities and lots of potential volunteers. Also, the opportunity to talk and network with other charities”
Jess from Winchester Mediation Service stated: “Wonderful event, very well organised. Everyone was friendly and it was an excellent turnout. Thank you for having us”
Jane from Home-Start Winchester shared her favourite part of the event: “Meeting and making new connections, being able to talk to people face to face and tell our story”
