Havant Borough’s “Celebration of Volunteering” 2017
Community First and the Mayor of Havant announce the launch of the volunteer awards for 2017.
These awards recognise the time and energy given by volunteers to organisations across Havant. It will be an opportunity to celebrate the dedication and enthusiasm of local volunteers who make such a difference to the lives of many residents. The event is being supported and sponsored by Havant Borough Council and Lockheed Martin.
Any group or organisation operating in the voluntary and community sector in the borough can make nominations. This year businesses are also encouraged to nominate their staff members who volunteer as there will be an award for Business Volunteer of the Year. There will be 6 categories of awards:
- Young Volunteer of the Year
- Business Volunteer of the Year
- Team of the Year
- Unsung Hero
- Lifetime Achievement
- Mayor’s Special Commendation
The awards evening will take place at Langstone Technology Park on Thursday 25th May at 5.00 pm. Councillor Elaine Shimbart, Mayor of Havant, and Paul Livingston, Vice President of Lockheed Martin, will be presenting certificates to award winners at the ceremony.
