A small group of enthusiastic volunteers from Fareham-based business, Thales, volunteered their time to spend the day carrying out essential tasks at the Brickworks Museum in Swanwick.
This volunteering day, arranged by Liza Smith (Community First’s Voluntary Sector Advisor in Fareham), brought five volunteers to the museum to help with general maintenance and gardening. Liza said: “Thales approached us to find a local charity that would allow their staff to spend the day working as a team whilst carrying out practical tasks. We were pleased to match them with the Brickworks Museum, conveniently located close to their offices in Segensworth”.
The Brickworks Museum is a historic heritage site that relies heavily on the support of an army of committed volunteers, who contribute their time throughout the year to keep the museum alive, working and welcoming to visitors. Emilie Brewer, Volunteer Coordinator for the Museum, said: “We welcome corporate volunteers and appreciated this group’s enthusiasm in tackling the tasks both inside and in the grounds”.
