Could you be a Volunteer Bereavement Buddy?
Butterflies is an established bereavement support charity in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight providing bereavement cafes, support groups and other services to provide support for those bereaved recently or over the years.
From 7th January we are looking for volunteers for our Bereavement Support Café in the coffee shop of Hilliers Garden Centre in Winchester. The café will run on a Tuesday afternoon between 2.00 and 3.00pm.
As a buddy you would come along to the cafe welcome bereaved people, chat with them and develop a friendship so that they know that they are not alone and that support is available for them.
We provide training and support for volunteers and they are very much part of our team.
Ideally, you should be able to commit to two sessions a month on a rota basis, be a good listener and compassionate.
We are also looking for somebody who is willing to learn new skills and to undertake additional training as needed
